{"id":858,"date":"2016-04-20T20:45:00","date_gmt":"2016-04-20T18:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cgpro.org\/uncategorized\/life-insurance-scams\/"},"modified":"2024-01-08T21:08:29","modified_gmt":"2024-01-08T20:08:29","slug":"life-insurance-scams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cgpro.org\/en\/press-releases\/life-insurance-scams\/","title":{"rendered":"Life insurance scams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.genealogistes-france.org\">G\u00e9n\u00e9alogistes de<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.genealogistes-france.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">France<\/a> warns of attempted life insurance scams.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-xl-font-size\"><strong>G\u00e9n\u00e9alogistes de France calls for the utmost vigilance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>G\u00e9n\u00e9alogistes de France has been alerted to the fact that individuals are posing as genealogists in order to extort funds from heirs claiming to be beneficiaries of a life insurance policy taken out abroad.<\/p>\n\n<p>These individuals claim to reveal their rights to them, in return for a hidden advance payment corresponding to part of the capital to be received.<\/p>\n\n<p>To reassure the hesitant, they offer to put you in touch with a lawyer whose identity is usurped, while keeping the notary in charge of the estate at arm&#8217;s length.<\/p>\n\n<p>G\u00e9n\u00e9alogistes de France would like to remind you that :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A genealogist acting on behalf of a notary will never ask for fees in the form of an advance under an inheritance disclosure contract.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Its remuneration is set with the utmost transparency by this contract. It is formally approved by the heir concerned.
